As for safety and security Marsa Alam International Airport adheres to the rules of the International civil Aviation Organization - ICAO. We do not wait for emergencies to happen. We have ready sets of actions to take immediately when the Airport faces any of those emergencies. It is not only a silent document for emergency procedures. There is always continuous briefing for all parties and personnel who should act during the event of any of those cases. The Airport performs regular exercises simulating those cases to check the viability of the procedures and the readiness of equipment and people to do the job properly. The Airport was a pioneer in executing on February 12th 2004, a full scale exercise for an emergency. When the emergency was simulated as if it is really happening, with all actions needed to face and eliminate its hazards, appreciation of all Authorities for the success of that exercise was very clear.
